Fall Mini- Sessions

I am happy to announce, this year I will be hosting Fall Mini-Sessions!

Mini- sessions are perfect for fall because it is that time we start thinking about updating our family photos, and childrens photos for mailing out to friends and family and for Christmas Cards.

Here is how it works:

Get a minimum of 2, maximum of 4 families together (or whatever session type each group my desire such as children, family, or couple) and Decide together on a date, location and time.

Then we will meet at that location, I will take each families individual "mini-sessions" in a 20-30 minute time frame.

For example:

Family A- 6:00

Family B- 6:30

Family C- 7:00

Family D- 7:30

2 Families Mini- Sessions - $60 each Family

3 Families Mini-Sessions - $50 each Family

4 Families - $40 each Family

Each Mini- Session includes: 20-30 minute shooting time, No less than 6 proofs to choose from, Password protected Online Proofing Gallery, and (1) 5x7 with the purchase of additional prints.

And of course I will still be offering my traditional sessions for those who would like a unlimited time, clothing changes and plenty more photos to choose from.

Fall Mini-Sessions will begin starting September 15-December 18.

These dates will be booking quickly so the sooner you book the better!

Lee's 80th Birthday

I had the pleasure of getting to meet Lee, and her family, the day after her 80th birthday. I drove to some ranch land out side of Fort Stockton, to get these shots. It was a great experice to take a step out side of the enviornment that I am used to photographing in and getting to caputre such a special time in this family's life.

This was just one of the random shots that I got, and I ended up really liking it!

Time flies when your having fun right!

Caiden turned 6 years old this past Thursday, makes me a bit sad to think of how quickly he is growing but I am so proud of the little guy he is becoming.

He loves the cranes, construction any thing boy-ish and dirty, so of course that is what the theme of his birthday had to be. But concidering that he is the only boy on my husbands side of the family, with 7 female cousins and no boys, It really wasn't a surprise to me that all the kids ended up in my daughters room playing dress up. The little girls had fun putting on make up, fairy wings, high-heels, princess dresses and whatever else they could find, and Caiden dressed him self like a pirate, as his friend Joshua stood back in confusion wondering what in the world is going on. haha! So much fun! I know all the kids had fun!

Congrats Megan and Derek are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their baby boy! Megan is such a gorgeous expecting Mama! She was just radiant with joy and anticipation for the birth of their baby boy, due in one month. These two where so much fun to work with, I Hope I get to see these guys again when the little guy is a newborn!

I think I am spoiled? Nah!!! Maybe not, after all I really do work hard when I get to working!

I am still madly in love with my new camera, my Canon 5d Mark II ::sigh::

and Now, after running my business for over a year on the slowest computer in history, I now have a brand new fast one that has cut my work time by about 1/2 maybe even more.

I got the joy of going through old files that I had left untouched because my old computer could not even handle the files, and I am also going through my photos from Spring break. So much fun!

Little Cinderella's birthday wish

This is sweet little Olivia, 10 days old, a good friend of mine, Randall's newborn daughter.

Congrats Randall & Sabrina!

I took Sabrina's maternity portraits about a week before little Olivias arrival. I loved the mood of these portraits, they were just so personal. It has been a while since I have just taken black and white photos where I had an opportunity to focus on the beautiful lighting and dark shadows. It was perfection!

The Expecting Mother Glow

I love doing maternity shots with a large amount of sunlight flaring through the trees, it only makes sense to me to have the beautiful glow surrounding the glowing Mama-to-be.

This is a few of my favorite shots of Candace, who is due in just a few weeks!

It was windy, and pretty chilly out, so this was probably one of the quickest sessions I have ever done!

I have been forced to open up to shooting in enviroments that I am not used to, and working with so many different people. Well, I can officially announce that that I have begun doing commercial portrait shoots for Sewell Ford of Odessa!

About two weeks ago I announced to close friends and family that I was contacted by Robert at Sewell about doing some pictures for webpages, newsletters, postcards, business cards and all kinds of good stuff for their business advertising needs. I have never done any sort of commercial photography work before so I really did not know what I was getting in too but I was very honored to be contacted by them, esspecially hearing the wonderful things that they all had to say about my work that they have seen.

I started on January 21, 2009, was very nervous but as soon as I got started it just felt like I was at a normal photo shoot, but with ALOT of adults! :-D

I get to go back on Monday and do some more work with them!

The Labor Of Love

One of my very best friends, Amanda, and her husband, Brandon (who is my cousin), just recently experienced the ultimate of emotional rollercoasters with the arrival of their beautiful baby girl Averi Grace.

Princess Averi had to spend a little over a week in the NICU because of fluid in her lungs, and she was such a strong little girl!

The whole thing just took me back to almost 3 years ago when my little Kinslee arrived so so ill, and I remember how hard it was parenting a baby in the NICU at the same time as parenting a 2 year old. I would not wish that experience on my worst enemy, however I also realized how incredibly blessed we all are, and we all learned so much about life with that experience.

Now, miss Averi is home and healthy and being loved on by her Mama, Daddy and Big Sister Maddie. Just wait... this is a sneek peak of her precious-ness! We are going to have her 1st photo session on Thursday!

Food allergies = NOT FUN AT ALL!

My poor boy has been going through so much lately with his food allergies. Visits with the dr, skin and blood work for them to just keep adding things to the list. Peanuts,Apples, peaches, pears, bananas, strawberries.... what will be next? I pray to God Nothing will be next and we can figure out what we can feed him to keep him a growing boy! Poor guy gets these nasty blisters all in his mouth, and esspecially on his tounge, and his mouth swells, stomach cramps..... ahhhhh! A bad eppisode happend last night at Rosa's while he was eating a carrot cake, which he has just about every week. What is going on here?!

Feeling Like Winter.... Finally

I do not know about everybody else, but I am still slowly trying to recover from the Holidays. Being out of town, then coming home and being sick for what seems like forever, I am ready for this winter stuff to be over with and give me some Spring already! This darn upper respiratory infection wants to linger with me and and it is starting to get hard. I have had to cancel portrait sessions and sleeping all day. I am ready for it all to pass and get back to workin!

A New Years Blessing

I am Happy to announce I am now the Great-Aunt to this little darling girl, Jesslyn Dawn born on New Years Day!

I haven't gotten to go visit with her since the night she was born, this was all I got to see of her because I have been sick. Maybe tomorrow I will get to spoil her :)

I can not believe it is Christmas eve already. It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating Caidens 1st Christmas, and now he is 5 and Kinslee is almost 3. This Christmas is going to be wonderful! Thanks to all of my wonderful clients this year, I am able to provide my family with a truely remarkable Christmas.

I will be on a "vacation" from Dec 24th-January 2nd. I Will be answering all calls and emails, placing orders, and scheduling sessions for AFTER the 2nd, I just will not be doing any photo shoots during this time.

Here is my last shoot of 2008! And as always, kiddos were fun to work with!

Amanda, I know alot of people say that boys are not suppose to be beautiful, but seriously, these guys were truely beautiful boys, no matter how rotten you claim they may be at home! ;-)

Just a Reminder about My Copyright Policies

To all of my clients I have worked with in the past, I just wanted to remind everybody about My Copyright Policies.
Lately I have seen, and heard more and more of my photos being copied and printed with out my consent. THIS IS ILLEGAL!
When I take photos for ANY of my clients I have them sign a release form stating that they understand and will follow the Copyright laws.
Here is the summary in the release form covering illegal printing and duplication of ANY portrait taken by me:

It is illegal and unlawful to scan, copy, or reproduce Jennifer Guiley's work in any manner or medium and punishable by law with fines starting at $150,000. Yesterday I had a wonderful shoot with the Woods Family. Simply put, a young beautiful, fun, happy family! Their two beautiful daughters were a blast to work with. The Fisher Boys

This was a unique session. The boys mother, called me and told me she would love to have some photos taken of the boys at Fisher Construction, a greesy, dirty, typical oilfield location. Why? Well because the location is full of possiblilites making their session like no other, and more importantly, because their Grandfather owned the company and the equipment. It was great, the youngest boy, Collin, talked to me plenty about his Grandfather, and how he would sit with him in the crane truck, and work with him. What an awesome memory for a little guy! As always, Wonderful wonderful family to work with! It was a pleasure working with them!! Collin reminded me so much of my son!

It is 11:24am, and since yesterday evening pretty much NOTHING has gone right. I am extremely frustrated. I have messed up 2 clients orders, ordering a wrong size for one client, and not ordering enough for another, my bank was being screwed up yesterday and for some stupid reason was not letting me make any transactions, and now, today, my reorders that I must get in for these clients NOW are lost somewhere in FedEx world.... I am so angy. Should I mention my little princess burned her finger yesterday? Ahhhh!
Okay so I have to stop and breathe.... it will all pass and be just fine.

I am greatful for my wonderful family, and my amazing clients that I get the pleasure of working with.
Blissful because life could not be any sweeter than it is right now. Even though things go unexpectedly, I have learned to apreciate everything, good and bad, that God has to hand us.

I am still very shocked and saddened by the passing of Bradley Sparks, somebody who I knew since we were young teenagers. My heart aches for his family, and makes me just hold my family even closer to my heart.
Rest In Peace Brad! You put up a very long fight, and you are in a much better place now.

On the business side of things:

This weekend has been very busy, I had the pleasure of working with The Sewell family again, one of my favorite families EVER. Not only because they have refered me to so many of their friends, but they all, including everybody I have gotten to know through them have been the most sincere, wonderful people. I am busy busy busy working to get the birthday party photos finished for everybody who attended the party!

And yesterday evening I met yet another group of kiddos, The Gardenhire family. These kids were way to easy to work with! I am used to little boys putting up a fight when it comes to having their pictures taken, But the oldest boy was like a mini GQ model or something! And his little sister, she tried to be shy, but I really think I got her out of that really quickly. Not to forget the baby, ahhhhh Love love love! This little man was sooo darn cute, and such a happy little guy! And I got to know the kiddos wonderful Mama's as we serched in the dead leaves for about 1/2 an hour looking for lost keys. LoL Amy... I added that part for you! ;)

So Keesha, Amy- Here is a sneak- peak of your precious kiddos! I hope you like them and you will be able to see the rest this evening!

I was THRILLED to hear from this family again! I did a shoot for them back earlier this year, and fell in love with their beautiful family the minute I met them. So when she called me and told me her mother would like for me to come to San Angelo and photograph her family I was so happy! It was wonderful to get into a different environment than Odessa or Midland. I want to travel so much with my work and this job made me want to even more.

A Fabulously Windy Windy day...

I know! Sounds weird! The wind was blowing horribly that day, and it was COLD out! But I am so happy to have taken pictures for this family again! I had taken pictures of their beautiful little daughter when she was 3 months old (not long ago) and now, I have made a new little friend, her big brother!
